Why Hospice?

You have always made your own life choices, but now you are living with a difficult illness.
Perhaps you are the primary caregiver for someone who is at the end-stages of an illness, and you need someone to turn to for help.
While times like these can be frightening, leaving you feeling vulnerable and indecisive, they do not have to be so challenging. Dignity, peace, and family togetherness can replace discomfort and fear when one is faced with critical decisions.
Everyone has the right to compassionate care, expert symptom control, and pain management over the last months, weeks and days of his or her life.
At Ogeechee Area Hospice, you and your loved-one will receive the best comprehensive care from our highly-qualified interdisciplinary team of hospice professionals.

What Our Patients’ Loved Ones Say About Us

My family could not have dealt with my mother’s death had it not been for Ogeechee Area Hospice. The staff was absolutely amazing! My family made the decision to forgo diagnostic care for my mother in favor of being comfortable so she could live with family love at her side. She couldn’t have been in better hands and words can not describe the care that Ogeechee Area Hospice staff has shown to our entire family.

100%, A1, professional service all the way around! My mother received in home services, then later, respite services before she passed away. If you are looking for assistance for your loved one who is terminally ill, look no further than Ogeechee Area Hospice. The epitome of excellent service with a very caring staff.

I've never been to a hospice. I assumed they looked like hospitals. This Hospice was so nice and cozy. It looked like someone's home. It has living room, family room and dining room areas; chapel; a snack room; and rooms equipped to keep visitors comfortable. All the staff--from the volunteers to the staff to the nurses--were incredibly nice and accommodating. We had one nurse during the day, Elizabeth, that was very sweet and was with us from beginning to end. The room was spacious and cozy. I can't believe how nice this place was. It looked like a large bedroom, not a hospital room. The room was painted light blue, with a blue trim. It had a built in entertainment center with a tv, flowers and other decor, a built-in bench in a bay window large enough for you to sleep on, and three cozy chairs. They really try to make it as homey as possible.

Loving and safe care at an extremely difficult time in life. Agonizing death experience made easier. Not only for patient, but excellent follow-up care offered for family. Cannot say enough good about this facility.
